Many couples choose to preserve sperm in order to ensure a fertile future, and they can, thanks to our long-term storage options. If you decide to use donor sperm, you can also reserve a vial of a popular donor and store it here at our facility. You can store additional vials from a current donor if you wish to use the same one for future siblings.
For decades it’s been known that sperm can be frozen and will regain its motility once thawed. But freezing embryos isn’t quite as easy. The purpose of freezing embryos and sperm is to at some point establish a pregnancy. We devote our best efforts to preserving the sperm’s fertilizing ability, as well as preserving the embryo’s integrity. However, when you submit specimens for freezing and storage, you must understand that there are several factors aside from the specimen’s ability to survive freezing, that can affect a successful pregnancy result. This includes the health condition of your partner and other issues that are not related to the freezing process. Because of this, we cannot guarantee pregnancy. It can often take several attempts before a successful pregnancy, which is why we recommend storing multiple specimens in order to increase your chances of conception.
Egg and Embryo Storage
You can save eggs and embryos from IVF treatments using our long-term storage program. These frozen specimens can be safely stored at our facility for several years.
Embryo storage involves the cryopreservation of a woman’s embryos for later use. Before the eggs can be collected, a woman must first take fertility medication in order to stimulate the ovaries, which results in a higher egg production. The eggs can be used for fertilization methods, such as IVF, and the remaining eggs can be stored for future treatment. If you choose to store your eggs, it can be done using the conventional slow freeze method or the vitrification technique. Once we have received the eggs they are processed immediately and safely stored until your next fertilization treatment.

There are many reasons for using embryo storage, with the most common being storing embryos to use for ICSI or IVF cycles. Embryo Storage for Cancer Patients
While storing frozen embryo specimens prior to cancer treatment therapies is advantageous, some studies have shown that a viable sample must be collected during the early stages of treatment. Dental Stem Cells
As we’ve mentioned, our facility also stores dental stem cells. We’ll work closely with your child’s dentist and coordinate the transport of the tooth or teeth, so we can have the tooth pulp processed immediately in order to ensure the optimal viability of the stem cells.
At your child’s dental appointment, the removed tooth or teeth will be placed in an FDA approved device. This device will go into the tooth transport kit we’ll give you once you sign up for our services. The specimen is transported overnight to our lab where the cells will be collected, processed, and stored.
Dental Stem Cell Treatments
The stem cells derived from your child’s baby teeth can be used to treat many conditions including Parkinson’s disease, diabetes, liver disease, sclerosis, autoimmune diseases, cardiovascular disease, and much more. Currently, patients are being treated with stem cells for spinal fusion surgeries, cancer, and bone fractures. New applications are constantly under review as studies continue to find more uses for both dental stem cells, placental blood stem cells, and baby cord blood.
When it comes to dental stem cells, obtaining them is incredibly easy. These healthy stem cells are actually thrown away on a daily basis during a routine dental procedure. Inside the tooth, the healthy pulp contains stem cells that can be easily recovered. Compared to other types of stem cell recovery processes, the recovery process for dental stem cells is non-invasive and not as dependent on timing. These stem cells are also more affordable to bank. However, it is ideal to recover these stem cells at an early age. Cells obtained from healthy baby teeth such as wisdom teeth or bicuspid teeth are ideal.

Our facility also banks placental blood. Just like cord blood, placental blood is rich in MSCs. These stem cells can differentiate into several different types of cells including fat cells, cartilage, bone, skin, muscle tissue, and organ tissue. But placental blood is different because it also contains stem cells that are a perfect match for the mother. The placenta uses these cells to grow during pregnancy. Currently, there are more than fifty trials that are researching treatments and different uses for MSCs, including spinal cord injuries and dementia.
Essentially, these stem cells can be used for both the child or the mother. The outermost layer of the placenta contains the mother’s stem cells. This means that the mother can bank her own life-saving stem cells.

The blood found in the umbilical cord after birth contains a large number of stem cells. These cells can be used to treat several diseases, conditions, and disorders, ranging from autism and cancer to diabetes and dementia.
If you’d like to store your infant’s cord blood, you must sign up for this service during your third trimester. You can meet with one of our consultants who will discuss the procedure and answer any questions you may have regarding treatment options, processing, and viability.
Next, we’ll send you home with a cord blood collection kit which you will take with you when you go to the hospital to deliver.
The kit will be given to your doctor.
This process is completely pain-free. Once the infant is delivered, right before the placenta is delivered, the doctor will pour the cord blood into a special FDA approved specimen bag, which will then be stored in a transport safe container.
The parents will call our twenty-four-hour medical courier service. The courier will head straight up to mom’s hospital room to collect the specimen and bring it directly to our lab where it will be processed. The blood is processed by removing plasma and red blood cells in order to retrieve the purest stem cell sample.
During this time, a sample of mom’s blood will be taken and tested for infectious diseases.
The stem cells are then frozen using state of the art cryopreservation procedures that slowly bring the cells down to freezing temperatures. Once the stem cells have been processed and stored we’ll give you a call to notify you that the procedure was successful.
Since there is no expiration date for cord blood stem cells, these cells can essentially be used to treat your child well into adulthood. Studies have also shown that these stem cells can be used to treat a sibling or a parent.
